Welcome to Paddington Class

Welcome to Year 2

We are Paddington Class - the final year group in Key Stage 1. By the time our children finish in Key Stage 1, they have solid foundations in the SBS Explorer Curriculum and are ready to work more independently in Key Stage 2.

The children have access to a learning environment and curriculum that supports and challenges their knowledge, skills and thinking. The staff know the children well and work flexibly with them as a whole class, in smaller groups and also with children across the key stage.

By acting as young role models, our Paddington children further develop their sense of self and begin to explore their connection to a slightly wider world.

Why are we called Paddington?

When Paddington leaves his home in deepest, darkest Peru, he shows bravery and positivity - even when things don’t turn out the way he expects! Paddington’s courage, resilience - and wonderful good manners - embody our school vision, Strive and Believe to Shine.

We know that life can be tricky at times but, with a little bravery, positivity and the support of our loved ones, we can find our way through.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

What are our dreams and ambitions this year?

We hope to read and write some brilliant stories and poems.

Our big dream is to work with real scientists and carry out exciting experiments.

We aim to become great scientists.
