Exciting New School Lunches with Chef Russ
We are delighted to announce a wonderful new chapter in our school meals provision! We have been fortunate to receive support from Russ Ball, a consultant chef from the charity Chefs in Schools and currently based at Pokesdown School.
Russ is passionate about helping children understand the importance of a healthy diet and the joy of good food. He began his career as a hotel chef in South Africa but soon realised that his true calling lay in food education—where he could inspire young people to make positive choices about what they eat. Russ has even spoken in Parliament about his commitment to improving food standards in schools and will be returning there this month to continue championing this cause.
We are thrilled that Russ will now be working closely with our team to provide school lunches and after-school club meals.
We’re so excited about this new partnership and can’t wait to continue serving nutritious, homemade meals that everyone can enjoy!
All infant and reception children are eligible for a Government-funded, free school lunchtime meal. School lunches for our nursery children are included in the daily fee.
Some older children are also eligible for a free school meal through the Government’s Pupil Premium scheme. Please click on the link to find out more and speak to our admin team if you think you are eligible or have further questions.
Our team are able to prepare medical special diets for children who have been advised to avoid a certain food by a medical professional.
