School Governor - South Baddesley CE Primary School and Nursery

South Baddesley CE Primary School and Nursery is seeking a new governor to join our governing body. This is your opportunity to make a real difference to children's education while bringing your professional expertise to strategic school leadership.

We are a small school with a focus on making childhood precious, encouraging a love of the outdoors, whilst enabling pupils' academic and personal growth.

What you'll contribute:

As a governor, you'll work alongside our leadership team and fellow governors to set the school's strategic direction, ensure financial sustainability, and hold senior leaders to account for educational standards. You'll challenge and question constructively, and help ensure every child in our care receives an excellent education.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is genuinely passionate about improving educational outcomes for children

  • Can analyse complex information and ask insightful, challenging questions

  • Can commit a few hours per month, including evening meetings and occasional school visits

  • Brings strategic thinking and the ability to see beyond day-to-day operations

  • Wants to contribute to our thriving rural school community.

Previous Governance experience would be ideal and not essential, and public and private sector experiences are welcome

About the role:

This is a voluntary position requiring attendance at approximately 3 full governing body meetings per year plus some committee work. You'll receive full induction and access to governor training programmes.
